Spokane is in Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. Getting around Spokane is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Washington's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I am quite impressed that there is no admission fee for the park. We began our visit by exploring the Rose Garden. As we walked, the delightful fragrance filled the air, and we observed marmots grazing on the grass. Subsequently, we had the pleasure of exploring the Perennial Garden. It proved to be another delightful section. The entire area was resplendent with a vibrant array of colorful blooms.

A nice place to enjoy the beauty of a great garden .

Beautiful formal garden, free to visit. Accessible parking by the top, but no way to get down to the garden path if you are mobility impaired. General parking is on the street around the garden and park.

Visited my daughter in Spokane in May, cold out, but fun watching all the people methodically planting the formal garden. It will be beautiful in bloom over the next couple of months. Always a joy to walk through. We did not go to the Japanese garden this walk through. Be sure not to miss it. Its lovely!

As a Spokane native, I’ve known about Manito Park and the Duncan Gardens since I was a kid. I typically come here every time I’m in town regardless of the season though the flowers really make this place special. Built as a sort of English Garden type set up, everything is perfectly arranged and symmetrical, which is amazing. The rose section is fabulous but I like the other side better. Plus, we went into the greenhouse for the first time and I can’t believe I had never been inside before. It’s fantastic. If you pay close attention, there are a few plaques nearby that give insight into some ugly history about this area featuring a past zoo with animals chained up. Very interesting place. Please don’t miss it. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate
